MUNICH LAUNCH EVENT: Turning Crisis into Opportunity

Once upon a time on a sunny Tuesday, more than 50 members of the Harvard Community came together in a virtual conference to inaugurate and celebrate the launch of the new Munich Chapter of the HBS Online Community. 

On June 30, 2020 at 8:00 EST, while the EU was announcing its decision to block travelers from the US, Russia and Brazil due to high COVID-related risks, we welcomed managers and business students from around the world, from Boston to Germany to New Zealand, spanning 16 time zones, to listen and participate in a panel discussion on managing during times of crisis and "managing crisis", aka "creating opportunity". 

We are grateful to our four guest speakers, executive managers from the Harvard Community in Germany, who joined us for a panel discussion to share their experiences and observations during this fascinating and educational page in our global history. Together, we discussed current developments, behaviors and expectations in the industries Payments & Finance, E-Learning, Recruiting and IT Services. The event included an introduction to the Munich Chapter team, which was founded and is currently managed by Andreas and Christian in collaboration with the HBS Online team in Boston. We especially encourage Community members to feel comfortable contacting us and sharing suggestions, feedback or questions about the community of the HBS Online program. While in-person events are currently postponed for the sake of the community's health, we hope to provide a fair balance between professional, educational and social events.
